The Importance of Staphylococcal enterotoxin B Detection
Staph food poisoning is a gastrointestinal illness caused by eating foods contaminated by toxins produced by the bacterium staphylococcus aureus (Staph) bacteria. Gastroenteritis occurs because SEB is a superantigen, causing the immune system to release a large amount of cytokines that lead to significant inflammation. This protein is one of the causative agents of toxic shock syndrome.
Early detection of SEB is critical for preventing its spread and treating the infected. Our SEB Test offers a quick and accurate presumptive identification of the toxin in environmental samples.
